Electrical work has been part of Greg Mandor’s life for as long as he can remember.

Greg’s grandfather, Milton Mandor, founded Mandor Electric in New York in the 1950s. His father, Ira, followed him into the trade and later operated I.M. Electric in New York. Growing up in a family of electricians, Greg learned that quality workmanship, personal integrity and pride in the finished product were not optional. They were part of putting the family name on the job.

But I.M. Electric, Inc. in South Florida was not inherited, relocated or handed down.

In 2005, Greg and his family opened an entirely new electrical contracting business in Palm Beach County. They chose the I.M. Electric name to honor the family’s electrical roots, while the original New York company remained independently in business for several more years.

Greg built the South Florida company from the ground up by earning the trust of local homeowners, contractors, businesses and property professionals one project at a time. What began as a new family business has grown into a respected Palm Beach County electrical contractor capable of handling everything from residential repairs to complex commercial work and multimillion-dollar custom homes.

Greg did inherit generations of electrical knowledge from his father and grandfather, including their deep love and sense of responsibility for the work.

That legacy influences how I.M. Electric approaches every project. The team does not cut corners, recommend temporary fixes or treat smaller jobs as less important. Every project receives the careful planning, skilled workmanship and attention to detail required to complete it properly.

Today, Greg is a third-generation licensed electrician, and the next generation of the Mandor family is growing up around the same values that shaped him. The company Greg built is now a true family business with its own history, reputation and future.
